Bilateral Congenital Extensor Tendons Dislocation over the Metacarpophalangeal Joints
Congenital extensor tendon dislocation over the metacarpophalangeal joint is a rare condition. Here the author presents a patient with bilateral all fingers congenital extensor tendons dislocation over the metacarpophalangeal joints. A video demonstration and ultrasound images are shown to supplement this case.
متن کاملSubluxation of the Extensor Carpi Ulnaris Tendon Associated with the Extensor Digitorum Tendon Subluxation of the Long Finger
A twenty-year-old male visited our clinic with wrist and long finger metacarpophalangeal (MP) joint pain. Dynamic ultrasonography revealed sagittal band (SB) ulnar subluxation and extensor carpi ulnaris (ECU) volar subluxation. Magnetic resonance imaging showed longitudinal splitting and dislocation of the volar half slip of the ECU tendon. The redundant radial SB was augmented and ECU sheath w...
متن کاملBiomechanical Analysis of Force Distribution in Human Finger Extensor Mechanisms
The complexities of the function and structure of human fingers have long been recognised. The in vivo forces in the human finger tendon network during different activities are critical information for clinical diagnosis, surgical treatment, prosthetic finger design, and biomimetic hand development. In this study, we propose a novel method for in vivo force estimation for the finger tendon netw...
متن کاملRole of the Finger Flexors in Rheumatoid Deformities of the Metacarpophalangeal Joints.
It is proposed that rheumatoid deformity of the central three metacarpophalangeal joints is caused primarily by the flexor tendons acting on diseased joint restraints. During pinch and grasp the tendons bend volarly and ulnarly at the tunnel mouth; the resultant pulley forces damage the supporting collateral ligaments, especially on the radial side. The flexor tendons and proximal phalanges can...
متن کاملA rare anomaly: absence of slips of extensor digitorum tendon for little finger and presence of bifurcation of extensor digiti minimi tendon for little finger
The extensor digitorum muscle (EDM) originates from the lateral epicondyle of the humerus via the common extensor tendon, the adjacent intermuscular septa and the antebrachial fascia. It divides distally into four tendons which pass in a common synovial sheath with the tendon of extensor indicis, through a tunnel under the extensor retinaculum and diverge on the dorsum of the hand, one to each ...
